Services Overview

GCSECA provides the member utilities the following services:

Government Relations – Electric cooperatives differ significantly in ownership structure and purpose from other electric utilities. As private, not-for-profit, consumer-owned businesses, they bring a consumer-oriented perspective on legislation and regulation affecting the wholesale energy market and other aspects of the electric industry. Staff evaluated proposed legislation, offers testimony and communicates with legislators, both state and federal, regarding matters important to the cooperatives.
During the Arizona legislative session, GCSECA produces a weekly update of the activity important to electric cooperatives and the utility industy. Regulatory Services – Staff assists the member cooperatives with their day-to-day dealings with the Arizona Corporation Commission. In addition, staff works with the member cooperatives on such issues as rate design, rights-of-way issues, pole attachment agreements, energy efficiency programs and renewable energy projects. 

Loss Control Services – On a daily subscription basis, GCSECA provides on-site safety and loss control training for member utility staff members. The staff has 60 different courses available. Communications Services

Current Activities E-newsletter – Staff prepares a monthly publication covering the activities of GCSECA and its members. To be added to the subscriber list, send an email request by clicking here.

Currents Magazine – Staff works with Forest Grove, Oregon based Ruraltie Services to produce a bi-monthly magazine for the members/consumers of Anza Electric Cooperative, Duncan Valley Electric Cooperative, Graham County Electric Cooperative, Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative and Electrical District Two. The 28-page magazine contains local utility information, energy efficiency tips and national electric utility news wrapped up in a reader-friendly format.

Traditional and Social Media Relations – Staff maintains this Web site, monitors the statewide Facebook page and serves as contact point with traditional news media.
